Scientific Relations between the Neighboring Cities of Tripoli and Tunisia in the Seventh and Eighth Centuries AH / Thirteenth and Fourteenth Century AD
Keywords:
Tunisia, Tripoli, the Hafsid state, cultural conditions, scholarsAbstract
During the Hafsid era, Tunisia reached an advanced degree in the scientific field, which was noted by all of the travelers, Andalusians, historians, and pilgrims who visited it. This is due to the fact that Tunisia is the seat of the Hafsid state and to its cultural institutions and stable political conditions, and
the encouragement and interest provided by the princes and princesses of the Hafsid state, and the people of goodness and righteousness, for science development. This attracted large numbers of scholars from Tripoli including Abdel Hamid Bin Abi Al-Dunya, Ismail Al-Jitali who taught and held some positions in the two countries. The historical-analytical-critical method was followed through collecting the material, criticizing its sources, references. This also involves arranging and evaluating it, analyzing its objectives, and linking them to ensure its sequence and coherence, in order to understand its past to establish its present and future. Hence, the study reached its targeted results.
